Deadline.com: Bella Thorne & Halston Sage To Star In Awesomeness Films Thriller ‘You Get Me’

Awesomeness Films is ramping up its next project, and reteaming with Bella Thorne and Halston Sage to do it. The pair have signed on to star in You Get Me, a thriller being directed by The Jinx‘s Brent Bonacorso. Ben Epstein wrote the script. Production is set to begin next month primarily on location in Los Angeles.

The pic centers on Tyler, fresh out of an argument with his perfect girlfriend Ali (Sage), who lands in the arms of sexy out-of-towner Grace (Thorne). The morning after, he finds that not only does Ali agree to take him back, but Grace is a new student at their school and is dead set on her new man.

“We are thrilled to be working with Bella and Halston again. They are both incredibly talented actors and we can’t wait to bring this fresh thriller to audiences worldwide,” said Matt Kaplan, President of Awesomeness Films, the film arm of the DreamWorks Animation-Hearst multiplatform unit AwesomenessTV.

Thorne starred in Awesomeness Films’ Shovel Bodies which has its world premiere at SXSW next week. She’s also co-starring in The Weinstein Company’s Amityville: The Awakening which will bow next January. She is represented by WME and LBI Entertainment.

Sage, whose credits include the upcoming Neighbors 2, Fox’s Paper Towns with Cara Delevinge and Nat Wolff, is in Awesomeness Films’ Before I Fall, the pic based on Lauren Oliver’s bestselling novel that stars Zoey Deutch. Sage is repped by CAA and ROAR.

Bonacorso is repped by UTA and Underground, and Epstein by CAA and Think Tank Management.

Halston joins the cast of “People You May Know”!

Halston Sage, Nick Thune and Kaily Westbrook are starring in the dramatic comedy “People You May Know,” Variety has learned exclusively.

The film is written and directed by Sherwin Shilati (“Neil & John In: The Key”) from his script, co-written by Michael Mohan (“Save the Date”).

Producers are Shelley Stevens and Red Ladders Entertainment. Once Upon a Time Productions executive produced with YayBig Productions and Bella Donna Productions as associate producers.

Nick Rutherford (“The Kings of Summer”), Gillian Alexy (“McLeod’s Daughters”), Carly Chaikin (“Mr. Robot”) and Ian Harding (“Pretty Little Liars”) co-star in the film.

Thune plays a 30-something introvert who, after abstaining from social media his adult life, is convinced that he doesn’t exist if he’s not online. When filling out his profiles, he realizes the life he can fake is much more interesting than the one he actually leads.

“Of all the incredible things social media has brought us, it’s beginning to serve as a major source of our self-worth,” said Shilati. “Our goal with this film is to bring to light some of the ways we subconsciously use social media to value ourselves in a thoughtful and entertaining way.”

Principal photography just wrapped on “People You May Know.” CAA is handling North American sales.

Thune stars in the upcoming “Dave Made a Maze.” Sage’s credits include “Goosebumps” and “Paper Towns.”

Thune is represented by CAA and 3 Arts Entertainment. Sage is represented by CAA and Roar. Westbrook is represented by Brillstein Entertainment. Shilati is represented by UTA and BenderSpink.

Halston Sage to be the next Catwoman?

On November 2nd, MoviePilot.com posted that Halston Sage has been cast as Catwoman in the new Batman reboot set to come out in November 2018 starring & directed by Ben Affleck. The article has no source and is the only one reporting so for now, we’ll just call this news a rumour for now.
If you’re interested in reading the article from MoviePilot here it is:

Halston Sage (Grown Ups 2, Goosebumps, Scouts V. Zombies) has recently been cast in the upcoming 2018 Batman reboot movie, Batman, starring Ben Affleck, Jared Leto, and Jeremy Irons, as Selena Kyle aka Catwoman. She will make one hot A of an attractive Catwoman unlike Anne Hathaway whose role of Catwoman flopped in The Dark Knight Rises due to lack of character based attractiveness, somehow.

Watch Sage seduce Ben Affleck’s Batman as Catwoman in Batman, in theaters November 2018.

We’re excited for Halston if this rumour is true and we’ll keep you up to date on this subject!

Halston Sage Jumps Into Action

In the horror comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, out October 30, Halston Sage plays Kendall, a popular girl with a heart of gold who is described as having “clearly won the genetic lottery.” It’s a glib assessment that Sage, 22, has had to fight since she came to attention in 2014’s hit comedy Neighbors, in no small part due to an onscreen snog with costar Rose Byrne. The scene earned Sage an MTV Movie Award nomination for Best Kiss. “I’m proud of that!” Sage, who grew up in Los Angeles, says with a disarmingly nerdy chortle. “Getting to kiss Rose was a privilege. I still have a crush on her.”
Sage has been working to add substance to her bombshell roles—a struggle she has in common with Lacey Pemberton, the character she plays in the recent young-adult drama Paper Towns. Lacey, the not-so-clueless BFF of Cara Delevingne’s Margo, can’t seem to shed her ditzy reputation, despite the fact that she’s bound for the Ivy League. Sage’s surprisingly layered performance will no doubt lead to meatier roles for the actress, but for now she is donning the scream-queen crown, starring alongside Jack Black in an upcoming film adaptation of the YA Goosebumps horror books. “I’m ready to walk the streets like in Pretty Woman or get locked up in the loony bin Girl, Interrupted-style,” she insists. “I just have to be patient.”
